PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAM – 2010-2011

6:30-8:00 am

ARRIVAL & FREE CHOICE (quite play may include nap)

Each child will have the opportunity to freely choose a variety of activities.

They may include music & movement, story time, books, puzzles,

unstructured art, dramatic play, table toys, sensory tubs, and blocks

STURCTURED LEARNING AND SMALL GROUP ACTIVITIES.

Activities during this period will be planned on a week basis.

Theme or skill based lesson plans will be posted and/or sent

home.  Lesson plans will include carefully planned developmentally

appropriate activities to help develop each child's growth in

language, fine motor, large motor, mathematical, social, emotional

cognitive and self help skills.  Structured and unstructured outdoor

plan will also be offered during this on a periodic basis.

DAYCARE CHILDREN WILL BE INTERGRATED WITH PRE-

SCHOOL CHILDREN.

REST - QUITE TIME

Teachers read a story while child settle onto their mats , there are various quite

 activities ie puzzles, coloring etc.

Each child will be provided with supervised rest period.  The child

not needing rest will be provided with a planned quiet activity.  As

each child awakens, a choice of quiet activities will be offered ie

coloring, reading, puzzle time etc.

2:45 - 3:00 pm

SNACK

3:00 - 5:00 pm

OUTDOOOR PLAY / FREE CHOICE PLAY

Bicycles, jungle gym, water activities

5:00 - 6:00 pm

GROUP ACTIVITIES AND DEPARTURE/OUTDOOR PLAY

CONTINUES,  Group activities may include organized games,

music and movements, stories and songs.

6:00 PM

THE CENTRE IS CLOSED.
